Moshi City Guide

Moshi is known as a little busy town situated near the slope from where climbing towards the Mt. Kilimanjaro. On this southern side, the mountain is covered by cloud almost all the time. In Swahili language, 'Moshi' is synonymous for 'smoke' in English. The Kilimanjaro International Airport lies between Arusha and the city of Moshi. Taxis are available there and are not at all expensive. Dalla dallas can be a good place in outskirts to visit. Going to villages can also make one feel good and again it not costly at all.

Moshi is one of the popular cities in Tanzania having almost144, 739 people as per 2002 census report. Migombani or banana groves and Vihamba or coffee small-holdings are plenty at Mount Kilimanjaro. t was the end of the19th century when Catholic missionaries introduced Arabica coffee seeds to the city of Moshi and these were cultivated there. As a mean to make the city popular, the Kilimanjaro Marathon has been started hosting there. There are many cultural programs that take place at the base of the mountain. The market is a fun even if you are not in a mood to buy anything.

Home to the Maasai and Chaga tribes, there are two major roads in Moshi Tanzaia. Many tourists visit Moshi to climb up Kilimanjaro. Safari is very essential there. However, tourists must be careful about safaris offered by people waiting on the streets. This might be dangerous sometimes in terms of stealing or cheating. Moshi has many hotels that can serve the tourists well with adequate foods and beverages.
