This capital of the province of Como is situated strategically at the southern tip of the south western arm of Lake Como . This picturesque and ancient city had been inhabited since the bronze ages by members of a Celtic tribe called Orobii.
First conquered by Romans, and then by Franks led by Charlemagne Como, Italy was the center of commercial exchanges largely due to its location.
