Uganda is an East African country located in the west of Kenya. Uganda is famous around the world as the land of Idi Amin. The history of this African country is very rich and diverse. Like most of the African countries Uganda was also under the colonial rule for a significant amount of time. The country finally gained independence in 1962. But independence was unable to give democracy or restore peace in this nation. The most famous or infamous period in Uganda was under Idi Amin a dictator known for his tyrannical rule. Uganda is a landlocked country surrounded by Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Lake Victoria which is the biggest lake in the African continent is a prized possession of the country. Lake Edward and Lake Albert are another two lakes present here. The
capital of Uganda is Kampala located near the Tanzania and Uganda border. There are 80 districts in the country which fall within the four administrative regions. The economy of Uganda is relatively weak and mostly depends on agriculture.
