Turkish art is a combination of various forms of Turkish culture. Because a art form generally refers to various other forms and fields of art work as well. As a result, Turkish art refers to Turkish paintings, architecture, music, dances, literature and many other forms of art. Turkish art tradition has richness in itself. This richness and heritages of Turkish art has come from the influences of several empires and other cultures that have come closer to the Turkish civilization and society.
Turkish art is divided into several art forms. Turkey has a very rich cultural and art heritage as it has come across various empires and has imbibed many art features into their own variegated cultural and art pattern. Turkish architecture is one of the various art forms where we can find distinctive trait of Turkish art. Turkish architecture has a very rich history and tradition of its own. The Turkish architecture which developed mostly in the Ottoman Empire during 14th to 15th century is also known as the Ottoman architecture. This architectural form was vastly influenced by the Seljuk Empire and their architecture and also the Persian architecture. Turkish architecture can be divided into several groups like, Classical period, Westernization period, Tulip period, Empire period and many other.
Turkish art is also comprised of literature, music and other performing and non-performing art forms. Turkish literature is also heavily indebted to the Persian models. Turkish literature before the arrival of Islam was verbal literature comprised of a number of folk elements. After the adaptation of Islam, Turkish literature followed the models of Persian literature and developed. There are many other forms of Turkish art.
