Togo holidays can be broadly divided into two categories, those that are specific to the country and the ones that are religious celebrations or festivals. The special holidays of Togo include the Liberation Day of Togo, celebrated on January 13th and the Independence day of Togo celebrated on the April 27th . These two holidays are public holidays that are meant for one and all.
In Togolese Republic or the Republic of Togo, Saturdays and Sundays are considered weekends. It is advisable for tourists to visit Togo during the religious celebrations. Though it is the same celebrations, local influence and flavor makes them unique and enjoyable.
