history of South Africa speaks of its racial diversification. The
history of South Africa is witness to the struggle for attaining success and unity among the different cultures.
There is mention of
San and Khoekhoe peoples in the
history of South Africa. These people lived in the southern part of the country for many years and the South African history has records of it. Then the
history in South Africa saw the coming of the Europeans.
The Sans were nomadic people who lived by hunting animals in the forests. The
Khoekhoe interested in grazing and hence preferred the coastal areas. Due to some of the diseases like small pox the Khoekhoe were totally wiped out. The Bantu speaking people were also one of the main inhabitants of South Africa.
By the end of the 18th century the small tribal African groups started intermingling and they formed bigger groups.
Zulu warrior Shaka came to power after killing and torturing the small Zulu clans. Terror spread among the kingdom as
Shaka's warriors killed common men.
The beginning of the 19th century saw the formation of the most powerful kingdom by Shaka. It has to be noted in the history of the Africa that there was little intermingling between the Zulus and the
Voortrekkers.
