Panamanian Facts

Panama Media comprises mainly audio visual, cyber and print media. The telegraph and telephone of Panama is operated by INTEL or Institute Nacional de Telecommunications. By 1997 there were 396,000 telephones and 17000 cellular phones in the surroundings of Panama City.
There were 38 television stations, 134 FM and 101 AM radio stations in the country. By 2000 the number of Internet subscribers rose to 45,000. The six main newspapers in Panama are Hoy, La Prensa, Critica Libre, El Panama America, EL Siglo and La Estrella de Panama.
