Namibia health is a matter of concern in Namibia because Namibia is affected by a number of diseases. Although the government of Namibia is taking necessary steps for improving Namibia health but still much more improvement is needed.
The northern part of Namibia suffers from recurrent attacks of Malaria. In the southern part of Namibia Polio is still found to affect young children. Both these diseases are deadly that need to be eradicated from the roots.
Like any economically backward nation, health facilities in Namibia also suffer from infrastructural deficiencies. There are no proper transport networks by which health aids can be sent to the remote areas. The living conditions are also not very hygienic. Diseases easily get spread from one place to another.
The health problems of Namibia ranges from dealing with diseases like Malaria, Yellow Fever, HIV/AIDS, etc. to eradicating these altogether from the country.
AIDS is also another major factor of Namibia's health concern. In the year 2001 the rate of HIV/AIDS was 22.5%. 230,000 people were living with HIV/AIDS in the year 2001. In the same year 13,000 people died in Namibia due to AIDS.
In the year 2003 the life expectancy rate of the people of Namibia was 42.77 years and in 2000 the life expectancy rate was 42.46 years. This rate should go up and only then the health problems can be overcome by Namibia.
