Mozambique Information means comprehensive details of Mozambique's geography, history, government, population, food, religion, parks and different cultural activities. Mozambique is a country located in the south eastern coast of Africa. Mozambique lies in the north of Tanzania, in the west countries like Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi lies, in the south Swaziland and South Africa lies. The country is separated by 25 rivers. Zambezi is the greatest among the other rivers. The capital of the country is Maputo.

The country's governmental system is multi party republic. History of Mozambique says that in 1498 Vasco Da Gama explored this place. Portuguese colonization began in the country as early as 1505. The Swahili and Arab traders also settled here. The colonial rule of the Portuguese in Mozambique was repressing. In the year 1963 the guerrilla activities began in the country. In 1973, 40,000 troops were deployed to fight against the rebels. In 1974 September the cease fire was signed. On 25th June 1975 Mozambique gained independence. Samora Moises Machel was the first president. For 470 years the country suffered more or less total colonial rule.

The total population of the country is 19,407,000 according to 2005 census. The languages spoken here are Portuguese, which is in fact the official language of the country. Besides this, the languages that are spoken are Sena, Lomwe, Tsonga, and Makhuwa. The food of Mozambique is influenced by Portuguese. In Mozambique about 40% people are Christians and 18% Muslims also reside in the country. There are many national parks in the country they are Banhine National Park, Quirimbas Archipelago national Park, Bazaruto National parks. Niassa Reserve is a famous wildlife reserve.
