History of Jordan
With the decline of the Ottoman Empire, the French Mandate Syria and British Mandate Palestine was created by the League of Nations. Till 1951, King Abdullah-1 was the ruler of Jordon. He appealed to the U.N to bring an end to the British Mandate Rule in Transjordan. Later in 1965, Saudi Arabia and Jordan exchanged lands between them. A mutual defense agreement with Egypt was signed by Jordan in the year 1967. The West Bank was under Jordan and the annexation of the West Bank was considered by Great Britain. In the same year there was a population boom in Palestine.
