Laguna Verde in Chile is a very popular spot among the tourists around the globe. It is actually a salt lake, which is a landlocked lake with a lot more salt and minerals than other lakes. The Laguna Verde Lake lies in the Andes Mountains in the northern part of Chile.

The lake is near the San Francisco Pass in the Atacama Region. There are high mountains surrounding the lake. The list includes El Muerto, Falso Azufre, Incahuasi, Pena Blanca, Barrancas Blancas, El Ermitano, Ojos del Salado and Vicunas. The Laguna Verde is four thousand and two hundred meters above the sea level. The term Laguna Verde means Green Lagoon in English. The view of the surrounding area from this place is absolutely brilliant.

This wonderful lake with emerald green water is well connected with the other parts of the country. It lies in the third region and is one hundred kilometers away from the Maricunga Salar. The best time to visit this lake is the three months of the year. The weather here is much like that of a desert. There is a big difference in the day and night temperature.



It rains most in summer here, approximately in an average of 14.8 millimeters. The Laguna Verde Lake in Chile offers a number of activities that entertain the tourists very much. These activities include trekking, hiking and mountain climbing. The place is a paradise for the photographers. The tourists can also go for a walk around the lake and explore the beautiful surrounding.

There are several famous spots located nearby the lake like Lamas River spring, El Salvador, Santa Rosa Lagoon and many others.
