Zimbabwe Schools form the basis of the overall Zimbabwe Education. There are a large number of schools in Zimbabwe that have cropped up in different parts of the country.
Primary Schools in Zimbabwe
Providing the Zimbabweans with the basic primary education is one of the important goals of the government of Zimbabwe. There are many primary schools, which provide seven years of basic education. A student is enrolled in grade one in a primary school and is taught till the seventh standard. English along with Shona and Ndebele are taught in the schools. English forms important part of the school curriculum. The rural schools first give stress on teaching the students their mother tongue and gradually shift to English education.
Secondary Schools in Zimbabwe
Secondary Schools are mainly run by the Government, where students are enrolled on the basis of zonal quotas. The Secondary Schools also enroll the bright students so as to provide them with the best education. In a Secondary School, a student learns through three separate levels. The three levels are Zimbabwe Junior Certificate, “O” level, and Zimbabwe Core Curriculum.
Important Zimbabwe Schools
There are a number of Zimbabwe Schools, which aims to provide their students with the advanced form of education. Some of the important Zimbabwe Schools are Alaska Sec School, Batanai High School, Bonda Girls School, Chitimbe Sec School, Dandawa Sec School, Founder High School, Highfield High School, Njube High School, and Mukanga Secondary School. These and many other schools also provide computer education to their students.
Thus, it can be concluded that the educational system adopted by the Zimbabwe Schools have advanced over the past years.
