Oviedo, Spain is the capital city of the principality of Asturias and it also acts as the administrative and commercial hub of the region. The central area of the city is at a height of 227 meters above
the sea-level and Mount Naranco acts as a shield for the region against the North winds. The Southern part is fenced by the Aramo Range . Since its inception the region had been an integral part of the Asturian Monarchy and was also the capital of the kingdom, this link is still apparent from the medieval flavor that the historic quarter of the city has.
