Saint Lucia Currency is the East Caribbean Dollar, represented as XCD or EC $. 100 cents make up one XCD. Saint Lucia Dollar is tied to the American Dollar. The US $ is accepted in major tourist establishments.

The
Saint Lucia currency notes are available in denominations of XCD 5, XCD 10, XCD 20, XCD 50 and XCD 100. These currency notes have the following security features:
- All notes have bar codes
- A watermark portraying Queen Elizabeth II appears on all notes
- Each currency note carries a unique serial number printed vertically on the left. On the right hand side of the notes the numbers are printed in 'novel' numbering form.
- There are two security threads on all currency notes. A continuous black line appears to the left of the Queen's impression. Secondly, the letters 'ECCB' appear when the notes are viewed under ultraviolet light.
- The back of the notes are printed with iridescent ink, which change color when viewed from different angles
- The reverse side of the notes carry the image of a compass rose printed in silver metallic ink.
The East Caribbean currency coins are in denominations of 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents and 1 dollar.
Saint Lucia Currency can be exchanged in banks, exchange bureaus, and most of the hotels. The banks in St. Lucia remain open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and some banks till 5 p.m. The cities of Castries, Rodney Bay, Vieux Fort, and Soufriere have ATMs for the convenience of the tourists.
