It was in the year 1944 that the Moldavian independent squadron was set up. Following this further developments were made and by the year 1987, Moldova served as the place that provided connectivity to as many as 20 destinations.
In the year 1995, in May, Chisinau airport earned for itself the status of being an international airport. Presently the Moldova Airport at Chisinau has as many as 15 airlines that are engaged in regular plying of flights to some of the world's very important locations in Europe, Asia and Near East. As such, the international Airport in Chisinau is the largest in the Republic of Moldova.
Present within the terminal building of the airport in Chisinau are bank branches, storages, shops, cafe and passenger's rest room. This Moldova airport has a well equipped infrastructure that aims at providing the best of service to the passengers and to ensure regularity and safety in the functioning of flights.
The International Airport of Moldova at Chisinau also happens to be a member of the ACI-Europe World Association of Airports and Airport CA-Interstate Association of CIS and Baltic countries.
Apart from Chisinau, Moldova also has its airport at Beltsy.
