Government of Vietnam


The government of Vietnam is predominated by the Vietnamese Communist Party. The party heavily influences the affairs of the state. The state of Vietnam follows a centralized system in which the powers are concentrated in the hands of the central government. The governmental hierarchy is similar to the one followed within the party. The members of the party occupy the various governmental positions. The government structure of Vietnam comprises of the National Assembly, the Council of State, the Council of Ministers, the People's Courts and People's Organs of Control, and the Local Government. The National Assembly has the power to legislate. It also lays down the functions and roles of the various other governmental bodies. The Council of State is the highest body of the National Assembly. The Council of Ministers are entrusted with the task of administering the state. They form the government at the center. The judicial bodies or the people's courts protect the rights of the citizens. The entire country is divided into provinces, which are further sub divided into districts ruled over by the local governments. The Vietnam government structure has been devised to make administration easy.
