Latvia Parliament is a unicameral legislature which is known as Saeima. The present Latvia Parliament is the ninth parliament of Latvia, which has passed through 557 laws in a span of two years.
Present Parliament of Latvia
Elections for the 9th Latvia Parliament were held on the 7th of October, 2006. The results of the elections were approved on 25th of October, 2006. Presently there are seven parties in the Parliament who won their respective seats on the elections. Indulis Emsis is the present Speaker of the Saeima. The Deputy Speaker is Vineta Muizniece and Karina Peterson, Dzintars Rasnacs is the Secretary, while the deputy secretary is Andrejs Klementjevs.
