Music in Spain is varied in form and style, although for many citizens, it is synonymous to Flamenco,

In the early Renaissance period, instrumental music in Spain was influenced by Arabic music. Ye-Yé is derived from the famous English pop-refrain words "yeah-yeah". A French-coined word and mainly was a fusion of American rock and British beat music. Concha Velasco, a singer cum movie star, launched the first hit of this genre of Spanish music named as "La Chica Ye-Yé".

Regional folk music is mainly played in the entire autonomous regions of Spain peninsula. They have a distinctive style of their own and the particular singer also acts the lyricist and composer of the song and was parallely introduced with those of Latin America and Portugal.
