The Constitution of Kenya was formed on 12th Dec 1963. The Kenya Constitution includes the President, the Cabinet, the Parliament, Judiciary, Court, Judicial & Public Service Commission and the safeguarding of Trust Land. Individual rights are protected under the Kenya Constitution, that also makes provisions for citizenship
By the affirmative vote on Second and Third Reading of 65% of the membership of the National Assembly the Kenya Constitution can be amended.
Republic of Kenya was a one-party state between 1969 to 1982. later on it became a multi-party state in 1991. The National Assembly, consisting of a single house is Kenya's central legislative authority, which can for 5 years. National Assembly can be dissolved before. But in that case Presidental and Assembly elections have to be held within 90 days.
President, Vice President and Cabinet hold the executive power. Vice President and Cabinet are appointed by President., who is a member of the National Assembly and is above 35 years old. In the absence of the President ( if he dies or not present for some other reason ) the Vice President becomes interim President for 90 days until someone else is elected for that post.
The rights that are protected under the Kenya Constitution include freedom of expression & assembly, privacy of home, the right not to be detained without cause, the right of compensation for the compulsory purchase of property.
The Constitution of Kenya, protects the citizen's right so that everybody can get the same facilities.
