Eritrean music is endowed with a unique style and rhythm of its own. Eritrean music varies from hard rock to soft melodies. The introduction of different musical instruments has enabled the music of Eritrea to develop rapidly.

Eritrean songs have a lot of feel in them. The Eritrean style changed just after the independence movement. Most of the songs convey the feelings of freedom and Independence. In the 60's Eritrean music had a lot of western influence in it. One can hear those old songs in the form of remixes of today. The instruments that are commonly used by the Eritrean musicians are the Krar, lyre, kebero and the box guitar. The tgrNa is a simple beat of Eritrea, which stands apart for its distinct and unique style.

Abeba Hailes and Helen Meles are the two famous female musicians of Eritrea. To name a few more singers in Eritrea are Asmarino, Faytinga, Christ Phyr Blyr End Frnds, Fatna Ibrahim, Tsehaytu Beraki, Senait Mehari, Elsa Kidane and Tesfaldet Mesfin.

Faytinga is a marvelous Eritrean singer. All the songs of her first album Numey are sung in the Kunama language, which is almost 8000 years old.
