Cyprus Government follow the presidential system like many other western countries. Cyprus has the membership of Non-Aligned Movement. But it has withdrawn the membership in order to join European Union in 2004. However it only gained the status of an observer. The presidential government was introduced in 1960 according to the Constitution.
Cyprus Government includes an independent executive, judicial branches, legislative. The government looks after the interest of the Turkish Cypriots. Greek Cypriot president is the head of the executive. Along with him the Turkish Cypriot vice president hold the right of veto which they can apply in case of certain types of executive and legislative decisions.
The government of Cyprus has undergone many disturbances because of the clashes between the two communities. Government in Cyprus includes several ministries such as
