Maramures is a county in Romania and the capital city of this county is Baia Mare. The population of Maramures is 510,110. The density of the population in the county is 81 per square kilometer.

An extensive part of Maramures is surrounded by the Rodna Mountains.

The county of Maramures is neighbored by the following counties:

  • Satu Mare on the western side
  • Suceava County in the Esatern side
  • Salij County, Bistrita- Nasaud County, and Cluj County to the southern side.

The population of Maramures mainly depends upon rustic and farming works for their livelihood. In the county, the wooden churches are very famous and the basic architecture adopted by the locals is also very impressive. The tourists have a wide range of options for sightseeing in Maramures.
