Saudi Arabia Language

Saudi Arabia language refers to the main languages, which are spoken by the natives of Saudi Arabia. The most popular and widely spoken Saudi Arabia language is Arabic; it is also the official language of the country. English is also widely spoken by the Saudi Arabian people, mainly among the business groups. English is a compulsory second language in all Saudi Arabian schools. Among the non-Saudi people, the most popular language is Urdu and the lesser popular ones are Farsi and Turkish.

Arabic being the principal language of all Arabian countries is spoken by about 200 million people in more than 22 Islamic nations. Arabic is the language in which the Holy Quran is written and most of the Arabian literature and poetry are also written in the Arabic language. There is a difference in written and spoken forms of Arabic. Each country has its unique pattern of speaking Arabic. In Saudi Arabia, there are even strong differences between the Arabic spoken in the rural areas and that in the urban areas.

The other less familiar languages in Saudi Arabia include Somali, Korean, Chinese, Italian, French, Bengali and Kabardian. These languages are mainly spoken by people who have either shifted their bases permanently from other countries or have come as tourists to Saudi Arabia.
