The Saudi Arabia government follows a monarchical system, where the head of the state is represented by the King. The King is not only the head of the Monarchy, House of Saud and the two Holy Mosques, but also heads the Military force of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia was founded by King Abdul Aziz, who integrated Saudi Arabia as a country in 1932. It was the title of his majesty's family, Saud after which the country was named Saudi Arabia.
Though the powers of the king are considerable, they are limited by certain factors, the most important factor being the power of the Ulemas. As Saudi Arabia is a strictly Muslim country, the religious leaders, called the Ulemas, exercise huge power in the administration of the country. So religion in Saudi Arabia is not only a social issue but has its political impact as well.
The Saudi King does not function in isolation. To assist him in his political and administrative decisions, there is a unicameral consultative body, based in the Al-Yamamh Palace of Riyadh. The members of this consultative body of Saudi Arabia are appointed by the king himself for a term of four years.
This apart, the Saudi Arabia government comprises the government ministries, who are in charge of the several departments of administration.
