Palestine Wildlife, the Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS) which is the Birdlife partner in Palestine is taking very important steps.
The wildlife of Palestine are given due importance by the people of the region. The Palestine Wildlife Society which was founded in the year 1999 has the mission of "conservation and enhancement of Palestine Biodiversity and Wildlife".
The geographic location of Palestine between the continents of Europe, Africa and Asia makes it a significant grassroots for the wandering birds like the Pelicans, Storks, and raptors. These migratory birds take the way of Jordan Valley-Jericho, Jerusalem Mountain routes.
The area is also engaged with a reasonably high number of mammalian species that are facing intimidation of being in danger of extinction due to the extreme unrestrained and unfettered hunting actions within the various sites.
The goals of the Palestine Wildlife Society are as follows:
- Education and promotion of wildlife and nature
- Conservation and management of habitats and species
- Active participation and involvement of local communities in conservation and sustainable development of resources
The Palestine Wildlife Society carries out some very important activities in relation to the wildlife protection of Palestine which helps the society of Palestine to a large extent.
