The Nauru flight takes passengers between Nauru and neighboring locations like Australia, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands and the Republic of Kribati. The flight is operated by national carrier Air Nauru, which has the Nauru International Airport as the hub of its air travel operations. Flights are the preferred mode of transport to and from Nauru.
Earlier, Air Nauru used to operate a larger number of flights which took passengers to more neighboring destinations like Hong Kong, Apia and Auckland. These services were withdrawn over time due to practical problems of finances, and for a period of time Air Nauru struggled to keep up its service in the island of Nauru.
With the renewal of services with the newly purchased Boeing aircraft, the Nauru flight resumed its service, now in another, shorter route. This route which is currently functional covers Brisbane in Australia, Honiara in Solomon Islands, Nauru, Tarawa in the republic of Kribati and Majuro in Marshall Islands. Services to Majuro have been discontinued due to lack of financial feasibility.
This Nauru flight is currently active and serves passenger.
