Micronesia media is free from any kind of state control, since the Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia advocates freedom of speech and expression. There is no private press in the country and thus no conventional newspapers. The government at the state and central level publishes newsletters. The newsletter published by the federal government is printed every fortnight.

Other forms of Micronesian media include radio stations, namely, V6A, V6AJ, V6AI, V6AH, BWXX FM 89.5, V6BC and V6AK. Radio stations are also located in Chuuk and Kosrae while others are situated in Pohnpei and Yap. There is also a station run by the Baptist Church.

There are a number of commercial television channels in Micronesia, that inckude the TTTK TV and the KPON TV. The former is based in Chuuk, while the latter bases itself in Phonpei. The government run channel of WAAB TV is located in Yap.
