Visa to Laos is required by all the visitors to this country. There are mainly two types of Visas in Laos which are
Laos Tourist Visa and
Laos Business Visa. The tourist visas are mostly single entry visas but multi entrance is also allowed on the business visa. The tourist visa is issued to the tourists on the arrival to the airports or while crossing the border or one can even choose to take it from the embassies.
Basic requirements for Laos Visa are:

- Two passport size photographs
The airports and international borders from which the
visas of Laos are issued are Vientiane, Luang Prabang Airport, Wattay Airport and Friendship Bridge. It is better to the get the visa beforehand from any of the embassies because then a 30day stay in the country is valid where as if it is taken from the airports or the borders one can stay only for 15 days. Though extending ones visa is possible an illegal stay can lead to imprisonment and a fine of five dollar per day for the visitor.
After the visa is issued by the embassy it remains valid for a time period of three months within which the person should enter the country. Along with the visa the visitors needs a valid passport with an empty page for the Visa to be issued. Strong steps like deportation and detention is taken in case all the formalities are not taken care of.
