Economy of Kenya


The economy of Kenya is one of the most booming economies among all the African countries. Though the economy of Kenya is agriculture oriented the presence of oil in the country had played an important part in the country’s finance. The main economic growth which Kenya witnessed was after it achieved independence in the year 1963. Tea is also a significant part of the Kenyan economy and the country earns lot of revenue by exporting it to all parts of world. Apart from the African countries like Uganda and Tanzania the main trading partners of Kenya are United Kingdom and U.A.E. Tourism is also a very important part of Kenyan economy as tourists form all over the world visit this country every year. In the last decade of the 20th century the new economic policy of liberalization had immense impact on the Kenyan economy. Corruption, unfavorable weather conditions and international price fluctuations affect the economy of this African country in a big way.
