The southern Chile is covered by dense forests of magnolias, laurels and many kinds of conifers and beeches. The cold climate and winds in the extreme south favor heavy forestation. Grassland is extensive in Atlantic Chile. Some more Chilean species of flora are the pinelike araucaria and monkey-puzzle tree.
Chile's geography is in total isolation which has limited the immigration of faunal life. However there are many specific Latin American animals found in Chile, like the puma or cougar, the Andean wolf, the llamalike guanaco and the fox like chilla. In dense forests reside the marsupials and the pudu that is a small deer. The wide range of birds in Chile is found in the territories of Andean lakes and Humboldt Current.
The vegetation of Chile is diverse and so are the animals in Chile. Therefore the Chile Flora and Fauna are interrelated and the diversity goes hand in hand.
