The development of
Belarus science and technology centers around the different scientific and technological institutions of Belarus. The three most important of such institutions are:
- The Belarusian State University
- The Academy of Sciences of Belarus
- The Belarusian State Scientific and Technical Library
Scientific and technological Institutes in Belarus
In the year of 1921, the famous Belarusian State University was established in the capital city of Minsk. For scientific and technological advancement, a number of departments were opened. They include department of mechanics and mathematics, geography, biology, geological sciences, chemistry, electronics and radio physics.
In 1930, the Belarusian State Technological University came up with departments of forestry, organic substances, technology and engineering and chemistry.
It was in the year 1929 that the well known Academy of Sciences of Belarus was established in Minsk, Belarus. For the scientific and technological development in Belarus, the university opened departments for mathematics, chemistry and physics, engineering problems of machine building and energetics, biological sciences, informatics and medical-biological sciences. For research and development, the university also has got several other departments.
Another major center for the development of
Belarus science and technology is the Belarusian State Scientific and Technical Library. This institute is situated in Minsk. A large number of scientists and researchers are engaged in research and development in this institute.
