West Estonia is made special by the presence of the delta of Kasari, the Baltic Sea and coastal islands. The landscape of western Estonia is plain and flat. The region is covered with junipers.

The region of West Estonia abounds in forest areas and bogs.

The western part of Estonia does not have a good soil condition. But the continuous mowing and pasturing have led to an abundant growth of flora in this region. A number of endemic species of birds migrate to this area. The amateur and professional ornithologists take the pleasure of watching these birds from the special towers built there. The vegetation of the West Estonian region chiefly includes coastal meadows, alvars, flooded meadows and wooded meadows.
