Colombia – health is one of the sectors of the country that has shown an immense growth in the years post 1950. Many of the health problems that previously used to pose a serious threat to human life in Colombia are quite under control. From the year 1990, the government has started taking specialized care so that the condition of health in Colombia is improved in all the segments and at all the levels of society.

The children’s health was one of the most important sectors of concern for the department of Colombia – health. The children of the country are getting much better nourishment today than before. However, according to statistical reports, even in the year 2000, as much as 15% of the total number of children of the country was malnourished.

One of the serious health-related problems of Colombia was malnutrition. A number of significant diseases like anemia, nutritional goiter, pellagra and scurvy were very rampant in this region and have resulted from malnutrition. But, in the first half of the 1980s, the situation improved a lot.

One of the diseases that still pose a threat to the people of the country is the communicable disease of malaria. The health department of the government of Colombia has still a long way to go before the place becomes protected from the malarial parasites.

With tremendous effort from the part of the government, the health department in Colombia has improved a lot. The government is still taking a lot of initiative to further strengthen the health infrastructure of the country.
