Saint Lucia - Science & Technology primarily comprises of a specific division dealing with the various technological and scientific aspects. The Science & Technology division of Saint Lucia was formed under the aegis of Central Planning Unit which was manned with three scientists in 1987.
The basic aim of the Saint Lucia Science & Technology division is to encourage the study and development of different fields related to the scientific and technological areas. The National Trust of Saint Lucia which has its headquarters in Castries city is a significant organization which enhances the science & technology development of the island. The National Trust basically deals with fregate, geology on pigeon, Maria island, rare plant types, seabirds and wildlife.
The Winward Islands Banana Growers' Association is another prime organization of Saint Lucia which is working towards analyzing and catering to the demands of the local banana growing individuals of the island. Having plans for many more institutions of repute Saint Lucia is all set to make a mark in the domain of science & technology.
In the coming years Saint Lucia - Science & Technology is expected to experience a major boost through the establishment of renowned organizations that will escalate the pace of Research & Development works in the island.
