The University of Health Sciences Antigua is a private university in Antigua, West Indies. It is also known as UHSA and was founded in 1982. Since 1983, the university is listed with the World Health Organization.

The university is situated within the Historical National Park area, a part of the English Harbor. The Downhill Campus is located about 12 miles away from St. John’s, the capital city of Antigua. This University in Antigua is registered with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

Antigua Medical School

The Medical School of Antigua is the largest and the most modern of all the medical schools in the Caribbean. Students from all over the Caribbean islands and also most parts of the world come to the American University of Antigua College of Medicine to study medicine. Due to the similarity of lifestyle with the United States, many students from America settle their base on this island to perusing medical education at the Medical College of Antigua. A national mandate has even been taken on the college for being the foremost contributor to the medical services in the islands of the Caribbean.

The teaching technique in the Antigua Medical School is very unique. The students have more practical experience as they can practice in the hospitals in close contact with the already practicing physicians.
