Colombian Clothing



Colombia clothing covers a variety of clothes that are commonly worn by the people who live in the country of Colombia in the continent of South America. The climate of Colombia is tropical in the coastal regions and the eastern plains and it is quite cold in the highlands. Therefore, the clothes of Colombia have to cater to a variety of weather conditions.

Rainfall occurs almost on a daily basis in the lowlands of the Pacific region and the eastern part of the country. Therefore, the clothing that is preferred in these regions of the country is meant to protect them from this type of weather conditions.

The important and most popular clothes in Colombia are trousers, sleepwear, blouses worn by boxer shorts, ladies, shirts, shorts, pajamas, skirts, robes, gowns, swim trunks, jogging suits, polo shirts, T-shirts, jackets, sweat shirts and tank tops.

The basic textiles used for creating the different types of clothes at Colombia are acrylic, wool derived from lamb, cotton, mixed variety of textile obtained from acrylic and cotton, Merino wool, mixed variety of textile obtained from acrylic and cotton, Boucle, Angora, Cashmere and Chenille.

The three basic seasons in Colombia are winter, summer and rainy season. The Colombia clothing that is commonly used by the people of Colombia is, therefore, manufactured keeping in mind the climatic conditions of the place. The basic types of clothes that are meant for the winter season as well as the colder highland places are pullovers, sweaters and cardigans.
