Valletta is one of the most remarkable travel destinations in Malta. It is the capital city of the country. In 1980 the entire city of Valletta in Malta was cyphered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a wonderful place of interest that should not be missed out while taking a trip around Malta. There will be nothing wrong if we say that Valletta is a city of palaces. This picturesque city is mainly known for its unique architectural style.

The city is named after its chivalrous founder Grand Master Jean de La Vallette. There is a series of attractions in the Malta capital. While roaming around the city you can visit the National Museum of Archaeology, that displays prehistoric sites. Besides this, the exquisite figures of The Sleeping Goddess are also found in the Hypogeum whereas the Venus of Malta is found at Hagar Qim. Since in recent times the restoration works is going on the upper floor, only the prehistoric section has been opened to the public.

Nestled amidst the crossroads of the Mediterranean, Valletta is considered to be one among the world’s highly preserved fortified cities. It is also one of the most beautiful European architectural showpieces.

With honey-colored roads and a number of old architectural buildings Valletta is succumbing to mass tourism as the days passing by. Whenever a person takes a glance of those old buildings he will find the evidence of the Knights of St John ranging from the hospitals to their auberges, from forts to the cathedrals. In one word trip to Valletta is a delightful experience in itself.
