Location of Aqaba
Aqaba is the only seaport in Jordan. It is located in far south of the country at the head of Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea. The town is bordered by Israel and Eilat.
History of Aqaba
The town had been inhabited since 4000 BC. It had been considered as a junction of trading routes connecting Jordan with Asia, Europe and Africa. Earlier Aqaba was known as Eilat.

Aqaba is famous for its unique diving and beach resorts. The Red Sea is perhaps the greatest asset of the town.
