The Venezuela flag was officially first adopted on the 20th April in the year 1836. It was made in the height width ratio of 2:3. The colors present in the flag of Venezuela are yellow, blue and red. The horizontally tricolored Venezuelan flag has eight white stars in a semi-circle at its center. It also has the coat of arms on the yellow stripe on the hoist side. The Venezuela Flag was designed in 1806 by Francisco de Miranda, who was one of the popular Venezuelan Independence leader. However seven of the stars were added in the year of 1836.
The seven stars of the Venezuela flag symbolize the seven Venezuelan provinces, which supported the Venezuelan Independence war in 1830. The eighth star, which is known as the Bolivar Star was added in the year 2006 in the honor of Simon Bolivar. The red color in the flag of Venezuela represents courage and blood of the freedom fighters while the blue color signifies Venezuela's independence from Spain, and yellow stands for the richness of the territory, which is the golden land of South America. The present flag was adopted by the Venezuela Government on the 12th of March in the year of 2006.
