This is also known as the Coat of Arms of Serbia flag.
Serbia Flag History
When Serbia and Montenegro were a federation, the Serbia flag was adopted by Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1918. At that time the three colors stood for the members who formed the federation. The colors, red, white and blue are also called pan-Slavic colors, which were inspired by the Russian flag. Next the Serbia flag was again adopted as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia flag on 7th April, 1992. Serbia and Montenegro were the former republics of Yugoslavia. These 2 states had decided to help each other in politics and have their separate currencies and economic strategies. The Serbia flag had been proposed once again by the Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro, where the 2 shades represented each state.
