The location of Belarus makes it a land locked country. The country is located in Eastern Europe. To the northeast and east of the country lies Russia, to the north of it lays Latvia and Lithuania lies to the north west of the country. According to the location of Belarus, to the east of Belarus lies Poland and to the south of the country lies Ukraine.

The latitude and longitude of Belarus is 53° N and 28° E, respectively. Belarus spreads over an area of 207,600 square kilometers. Belarus' location affects the climate of the country. As Belarus lies in the close proximity to the Baltic Sea, the climate of the place ranges between temperate and maritime types. The winters are usually very cold and summers are cool and humid.



The geographical location of Belarus also has given it a varied topography. The land is mainly plain, broken by hills at different places. The lakes and rivers have endowed the place with immense scenic beauty. The location of Belarus also makes it prone to natural disasters like floods.
