Mulanji is an important city situated in the southern part of Malawi. It has become a favorite tourist destination for the amazing Mulanji Massif Mountain. The Mulanji Mountain located very near to the city, is a preferred spot for rock climbing and hiking.

Covering an area of about one thousand square kilometers this mountainous area features stunning waterfalls, deep gorges. The slopes of the mountain are adorned with beautiful cedars along with tea plantations in the foothill regions.

The Sapitwa is the highest peak of the mountain situated at an altitude of about three thousand and two meters. Chambe, located in this region is one of the most preferred rock climbing destinations near the Mulanji city. The Skyline path towards Chambe and the Lichenya Path directed towards the Lichenya Plateau are the routes that are most preferred by the tourists for climbing.

Located in the southern fringes of Malawi, the Mulanji features grasslands which are intercepted by ravines. A number of mountain huts are found in this mountainous area. The Mulanji Mountain is a part of the Mulanji Mountain Forest Reserve. People are building their huts near the park of the forest reserve which is detrimental for the city.

Located near to the border of Mozambique, the Mulanji city is the headquarters of the Mulanji Mountain Conservation Trust. This small town is the hub tea industry in Malawi.The beauty of the Mulanji city compels travelers to visits this place time and time again.
