Top Ten - Religion Maps

World Religion map is an attempt to represent the distribution of major religions followed across the world. The map shows the area where the major religions of the world viz Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Taoism, Buddhism and Sikkhism are followed.

It also portrays the distribution of other minor religions and the regions which have multi religious culture.Christianity is the most followed religion in he world followed through the whole of North America, South America, Australia, parts of Africa, Europe and Asia.

This religion is marked with yellow color in the map.Another widely practiced religion of the world is Islam. It has base in a large number of countries of Africa, Europe and Asia. The regions which Islamic population have been depicted in green on the World Religion Map.Taoism, denoted in light brown color, is the another major religion of the world. Buddhism is also followed in large parts of the world.Mongolia is the country with largest Buddhist population, followed by Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Laos and Cambodia.

This religion is shown with mauve color in the map.Multi color strips represent the following of multi-religion in the specific area. India is one such country where you will find followers of all the religions of the world, with Hinduism (orange color) as one of the largely followed religion. North India also has a large Sikh population. Judaism, whose followers are known as Jews has been depicted with red color on the World Religion Map.
