Uganda Flora has a rich variety. The southern part of the country enjoys heaviest vegetation. The central and northern Uganda has got a wooded savanna. Since the country comes under tropical climate many of the tropical flowers and fruits can be found here.
Uganda Flora includes tropical African shrubs or Trees like Candelabra and Euphorbia. Dry acacia woodland and interspersed with grassland are found in the less favorable part of the country. The vegetation in the Rift Valley River contains similar components. The steppes of the northeast part of Uganda is the driest region of the country.
The forest in the Lake Victoria region had suffered from Human incursion. Elephant grass have replaced the forest covering. However a rich variety of species can be found in the medium-elevation forests of Mt Elgon and the Ruwenzori Range above 6,000 ft. Elephant, hippopotamus, buffalo, cob,topi, monkey, lion, giraffe and rhinoceros can be seen. Both papyrus and grassy swamp are included in 5,600 sq miles of swamplands of Uganda.
Flora in Uganda include lovely flowers like maroon and white vine flower, white jungle flower, red-orange flowers, green flower, red heliconia etc.
Flora of Uganda in the southern half of the country has a different history. Here cultivated plots has replaced the natural vegetation. Thick forests are scattered over here and there. The mvuli trees provide fine timber.
