Sri Lanka religion follows several cultures. Sri Lankan society consists of many religions. The culture of Sri Lanka is also known as a multi-religious one. The population of Sri Lanka worships different religions. Most of the people of the island is from Buddhism culture. The other
religions in Sri Lanka are:
- Hinduism
- Christianity
- Islam
Among all these religions, the number of people who follow Islam religion are quite less. After Buddhism, the highest number of dwellers of
Sri Lanka belong from Hindu religion, then the Christians. The people of
Sri Lanka are very religious in nature. Though the
religion of Sri Lanka comprises of four religions but all the people believe in celebrating the festivals of all types.
The political, social and cultural life of Sri Lankans are influenced by the Buddhism religion, in majority. The Tamil people introduced Hinduism in Sri Lanka, colonialism brought Christianity in the island and Islam religion was brought by the Arabian traders. The Sri Lankans believe Adam's Peak to be a spiritual place. The Peak is regarded by all the people of the island, does not matter that who belong to which religion.
Therefore,
