Macedonia flora and fauna refers to the vegetative and animal kingdom of Macedonia which is very rich and diverse. Macedonia flora and fauna refers to the flowers, plants, mammals and other rare species of animals which are found exclusively in Macedonia.

Macedonia has a total of about 3,500 plant species, 78 species of mammals, 330 bird species and 55 species of fishes and aquatic animals. Macedonia is a country which shows an amazing eco-system balance between plants, animals and human beings. Forests form an important part of the Macedonian republic and most of the wildlife creatures are protected in the three national parks of the region. About 64 species are protected and 46 species are preserved from hunting. Chamois, roebuck, Wild boar, Wild Rabbit, Patridge, Pheasant, Kamewarka and many different varieties of deer are generally found in the Macedonian forests.

The flora of the Macedonian country boasts of a wide variety of grapes, wheat, flowering plants and some rare species of trees like Tulipa Marianae, Slavia Juriscii, Sambucus Deborensis and Ferulago Macedonia.

The Botanical Garden of Macedonia is an ideal place to find different species of flora from the Balkan Peninsula and from other parts of the world. The Museum of Natural History is also an ideal place to find an example of the rich flora and fauna of the Macedonian country.
