The dominant Estonia religion is Christianity. Majority of the Estonians follow the Evangelical Lutheranism sect of Christianity. The religion was incorporated into Estonian society in the 13th century.
The Estonia religion of Evangelical Lutheranism was imported by the Teutonic Knights during the 13th century. The religion spread its base during the Reformation period in the East European country's history. The first Evangelical Lutheran church was constructed in the late 17th century. Present day Republic of Estonia has more than 150 Christian churches belonging to the Lutheran sect. The community of Orthodox Christians forms the second largest chunk of the religious minded population in the country. Christians belonging to the Baptist sect and Jews form the religious minority in the country.
