Flora

Flora is found in abundance in Ecuador, which is referred as world's most bio-diverse nations. The geographical advantage that Ecuador has accounts for it being rich in flora. Ecuador attracts tourist towards it because of its cloud forests, deserts, islands, rainforests, jungles, volcanoes and snow-capped peaks. The climatic variations in Ecuador have led to the evolution of thousand species of flora.

The majority of these plant species, which are referred to as flora grow in the northeastern Amazon. In Amazon an approx number of 10,000 species thrive to grow. In Andes too a lot many of these kind of plant species grow. The Andes has cloud forest which are rich in bromeliads, orchids, and tropical plants and trees. The Andes homes as many as 8,200 plant and vegetable species. From among the category of orchid species as many as 2,725 have been identified in this area. The Galápagos Islands, which are largely barren as they were volcanically formed, also home more than 600 native plant species.

The bio-diverse nature of Ecuador contribute towards the growth of such plant species. This can be proved by the fact that three of the twelve key bio-diversity zones can be found on the Ecuadorian mainland.

Thus, the rich growth of flora in the Ecuadorian region can be attributed to its diverse climatic conditions.
