Belarus society and culture includes the dressing, customs, eating habits and all the nook and corners of life. The origin of the traditional Belarusian dress in the Belarus society and culture can be traced back to the period of Kievan Rus. The clothing was designed in such a way so as to keep the person warm and hence were mostly made up of wool or flax.
Belarusian cuisine mostly comprises of meats, vegetables and breads. The staple food of Belarus includes pork, potatoes, cabbages and bread. The diet of a typical Belarusian includes a very light breakfast with two heavy meals and the dinner becomes the largest meal of the day. Both wheat and rye breads are consumed in Belarus society and culture. Drinks are also a very popular part of the culture and society of Belarus.
The majority of the Belarusians are Russian orthodox people with the minorities practicing Judaism, Catholicism and few other religions in the Belarus society and culture. There is also a very small minority that belongs to the Belarusian Greek Catholic Church. Although freedom of worship is granted in Belarus, religions that are considered to be harmful to the social order or the government can also be prohibited by the Belarus authority at the same time.
