Mauritius Flag


The national flag of Mauritius consists of four colors that are placed horizontally. This flag officially came into being in1968 on 12 th March.

The colors from upper portion of the Mauritius flag to the bottom are red, blue, yellow and green respectively.

The width and length ratio of the Mauritius flag is 2:3. The colors of the flag have their distinctive meanings . Red represent the bloodshed and freedom struggle.

Blue represents the Indian Ocean on which the island is located.

While the yellow denotes the golden ray of freedom the green in the flag symbolizes greenery and agriculture of Mauritius.
